Which size?
Gearing is a trade-off. More teeth on the rear sprocket sharpens acceleration and low-speed punch at the cost of top speed. Fewer teeth stretch the gearing for higher top speed with less initial snap.
- 42 / 46 tooth: taller gearing, more top-end
- 50 / 54 tooth: shorter gearing, more acceleration and torque delivery
